Description

Squid Sniper is a weapon in SharkBite. It costs 1,250 shark teeth. Like the Ray Gun, it takes a long time to grind up to 1,250, but it's worth the shark teeth considering its versatility. Although it is currently the highest damage weapon in the game, the weapon's slow firing speed limits its damage per second, which is not comparable to that of the Ray Gun consequently, the Squid Sniper is generally not considered as good as a weapon like the Ray Gun, however this weapon is very good for long range distances when the shark is far off to the other side of the map, although it is very slow when shot.

The weapon's unique trait is its range that it can get close to a target. The weapon enters an expanded mode if the player presses Z while having it equipped.

The Squid Sniper's base color is yellow with a gray gun barrel and a pink tentacle of sorts wrapped around most of the gun, likely a squid tentacle considering the gun's name. A light blue tank on the end of the gun is presumably where the ammo is held acting as a tank for the squid ammunition. The shots fire a squid with a spinning wispy trail following it. The gun itself looks quite similar to the Bubble Gun from Terraria, but given the name of the weapon, is likely based off the Splatterscope from Splatoon.

Strategies

• Because of its outstanding performance at range and ability to zoom in, this weapon combos well with tall boats like the Pirate Ship and the Flying Dutchman. These boats have masts which can be accessed and can be used as a sniper tower, allowing you to easily target the shark and take shots.
• Due to its extremely high damage and zoom-in ability, the Squid Sniper is considered by many to be one of the best guns available in the game.
• The scope lets the user use this gun as a telescope, giving this gun a utility purpose as well, making it more viable than most weapons when employing a strategy that doesn't involve harming the shark.
• It has the furthest range of any other weapon in the game, making it very helpful in Titanic mode.
• Using this with a Hovercraft is a very powerful combo as you can dish out some heavy damage to the shark while keeping a safe distance.

Notes/Trivia

• Likely due to a glitch on the developers' part, when a round starts and a player has the Squid Sniper, the amount of ammunition in the gun is 4, not the maximum of 5.
• The fact that the Squid Sniper can kill a Great White shark in only 16 shots demonstrates the power of this weapon.
• Its design may be a reference to Splatoon's Charger series of weapons, which is why some people make jokes about it.
• During the shark release cutscene, you can still see by zooming in.
• If you shoot the shark using three rounds and hit on all three, you will need to hit one more due to the fact that it needs 16 shots to kill Great White, which is the most common shark.
• Squid Sniper sounds like Squid Game, a Netflix show.
